Making Decisions

The weeks are going by too fast – before you know it, it is Friday again! This week went well, but it was a little stressful. To be honest, I hit a bit of a wall with my project but with Uwe’s encouragement and the student’s new ideas, it guided me to create my own content. Before, I was hesitant to make my own choices and decisions, but now I realize it is necessary for this project. I started to create the introduction and video layout for the campaign page, but it was difficult for me to decide what would be the best approach. After talking to Uwe, I understand now that we must appeal in a way that really excites potential donors.

This project is amazing, and the communication aspect is something that has never been done before. Focusing on this aspect might help to gain an audience that is really passionate about seeing this exhibit come to life.

I also can’t wait…next week I will be heading to Oslo, Norway for 3 days with other members of the exhibition team. There, we will be taking down a traveling exhibit, Parasites – Life Undercover, at the Museum of Natural History in Oslo. I feel really lucky that I get to tag along and help with the process of relocating an entire exhibit. It will obviously be hard work (4 people – one exhibit to dismantle!), but it is also going to give me a really good idea of just how much time, effort, and thought must go into an exhibit – and how much must continue to go into it to make it successful. This experience will give me extremely valuable information for my project and an inside look at how a real exhibit actually functions. It will definitely help shape the way I continue to create a concept and campaign for the Henry J. Fair exhibit – especially because it is such an ambitious project! I can’t wait to see what lies ahead when we take the trip. See you soon Oslo!

Google translate is a lifesaver... Of course, I had to go to Fan Mile to see Germany play! My ticket for Oslo. Can't wait!
